Holiday Driving Tips

Now that the holidays are officially here, you may find yourself traveling more than usual. As well, you will most likely discover that more people will be on the road, too. Because of the excess amount of traffic and everyone being in a rush, it will be even more important to practice safe driving techniques. We’ve put together a list of holiday driving tips — take a look!

Plan Ahead

This holiday season, it will be very important to plan ahead. This idea refers to various features of your trip. First, you should make sure that your vehicle is completely checked and safe for travel. Next, plan your route in advance and check traffic reports. In doing so, you may decide to leave earlier or later to avoid clusters or traffic. You may even be able to find a new and less crowded route.

Follow Speed Limits

As you already know, you should never speed. Make sure you follow the posted speed limits, but even more so, the flow of traffic. If roads are overly congested, then traffic may be moving at a slower pace. For safety purposes, try and stay with said flow.

Get Some Rest

If you’re planning a big journey, then make sure you get plenty of rest the night before. If you’re driving a long distance, it will be imperative to make sure you’re not drowsy. If you drive tired, you put yourself, your passengers, and others who on the road in danger.

Stay Relaxed

Holiday driving can be quite stressful. Therefore, it will be very important to stay as relaxed as possible. If you’re angry or upset, you’re liable to make a quick decision that could prove to be dangerous. When you’re behind the wheel, stay calm and focused. Also, don’t listen to any type of music that may put you in a bad mood.

Enjoy the Ride

When driving this holiday season, remember to stay safe and alert. By all means, enjoy the ride and the time you’re spending with your family. Don’t forget to use our holiday driving tips to help ensure safe travels.

I loved taking Virtual Driver Ed Instructor. Not only was it simple to use, but it was also easy to understand. I couldn't believe how fast it was and I had no problem receiving my certificate of completion. I strongly suggest using this program.

Virtual Drive was fast, fun, and easy to use. I didn't think driver's education could be so convenient. Being able to start and stop whenever I needed to was a big plus. I would recommend this to anyone trying to complete driver's education!

I found the course to be full of new additional information I needed to be current on my knowledge of new laws and procedures. Additionally I feel it would not be a bad idea for most people to take this course as a brush up from time to time.

My son Adam was the one who took the course. He has some significant learning disabilities and this course was an outstanding option for him. He was able to do it at his own pace which was a tremendous help.

I just wanted to say that Virtual Drive was awesome! Especially with me being a busy mom going to school and stuff was hard to go into actual classes. Thanks, Kevin!
